If you supervise building work under your employer’s QBCC licence you must have a Site Supervisor licence.

Who should do it?

This qualification is suitable for anyone with a minimum of 12 months site supervision experience.

Allow 20 hours to complete the assessments on-line over a maximum of 3 months.

Are you looking to apply for your builder open class site supervisor licence with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC)? If your answer is yes, then keep reading.

Building Supervisors plan, organise, and control construction projects by undertaking quality inspections and supervising staff and subcontractors. According to SEEK.com.au, the average salary for a Building Supervisor in Australia is $103K.

The units within the Builder Open Class Site Supervisor (Queensland) course are implicit of the CPC60212 Advanced Diploma of Building and Construction (Management) qualification. This course will provide you with the knowledge and managerial skills to meet the technical qualifications for the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) Site Supervisor Licence. This includes learning how to:

  • Coordinate staff, contractors, and materials to ensure targets on projects are met
  • Prepare and administer council applications and building contracts
  • Supervise internal employees and monitoring subcontractors to ensure safety and technical specifications are adhered to

Depending on your years of experience in the workplace, industry or previous studies, you may be eligible to have your skills recognised through our Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program. This may potentially fast track your way to a formal qualification, save time, and months’ worth of education investment.

**Please note that Best Option Training do not issue licences. Please contact QBCC directly. Please check with the QBCC on what the Builder – Open licence allows you to build. This information is available on the QBCC website www.qbcc.qld.gov.au.

Cert III Painting and Decorating

Big thank you to the team at Best Option Training for helping me complete my Cert III in Painting and Decorating. I had completed by apprenticeship in Scotland many years ago but unfortunately my qualifications aren’t recognised over here in Australia. This course helped prove my capability and guided me through all the process. Could not fault them one bit and they have been so helpful and amazing to work with. Highly recommend to anyone looking to apply for a painting licence. Now I can officially say I am a licenced painter in Australia also.
