At Best Option Training (BOT), we’re committed to making quality building and construction education accessible to all eligible learners across Australia. Understanding your eligibility is the first step toward advancing your career in one of Australia’s most dynamic industries.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Age Requirements

Best Option Training welcomes learners of all ages. Our enrolment process ensures that every student has the capacity to successfully complete their chosen course.

For students under 18:

  • Parental or guardian consent is required to enrol
  • We identify and manage any safety and wellbeing risks in accordance with child safety principles and relevant legislation
  • Additional considerations are made based on the training content and mode of delivery to ensure a safe learning environment

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy

Prior to enrolment, we review your language, literacy, numeracy and digital (LLND) skills to ensure you can successfully undertake your chosen training product. This assessment helps us:

  • Determine if you have the necessary skills for your chosen course
  • Identify any training support needs
  • Recommend appropriate learning pathways if needed

We analyse each training product to understand the level of LLND required, and we tailor our enrolment process based on the nature of the training, delivery mode, and student characteristics. If additional support is needed, we provide training support services throughout your learning journey.

Educational Prerequisites and Entry Requirements

Course entry requirements vary depending on the qualification level and training product:

  • Certificate III qualifications: Completion of Year 10 (or equivalent) is typically recommended
  • Certificate IV qualifications: Certificate III in a related field or relevant industry experience
  • Diploma qualifications: Certificate IV in a related field or substantial industry experience

We assess your existing skills and competencies before enrolment to ensure the training product is appropriate for your needs. If you don’t meet the standard entry requirements, we’ll advise you of alternative training products or learning pathways that may help you build the necessary prerequisite skills.

Physical Requirements and Prerequisites

Some training products have specific physical requirements or prerequisites. Prior to enrolment, we will inform you of any:

  • Physical skills or capabilities required
  • Prior experience needed
  • Mandatory workplace assessment requirements

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

All students enrolling in nationally recognised training must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This is a mandatory Commonwealth Government requirement. We can assist you in obtaining your USI during the enrolment process if you don’t already have one.
